Cybersecurity firm root9B has announced an updated software platform to enhance its “hunt” capabilities in pursuing cyber intruders, and will integrate with systems used by the Department of Homeland Security in sharing cyber-threat intelligence.

“This version continues to leverage R9B’s real-world, operational expertise while introducing new and improved features to enhance the effectiveness of corporate and government cybersecurity practitioners,” the company said in a statement issued today in advance of the RSA Conference in San Francisco next week.

The company’s ORION 2.0 HUNT platform will allow “for seamless integration with existing endpoint monitoring and security information and event management software products,” said R9B Chief Technology Officer Mike Morris.
