Stephen “Mike” George, chief data Scientist at R9B, has more than 25 years of experience in advanced cybersecurity and technical intelligence operations, working for defense, intelligence and commercial organizations.
He researches predictive analytics and cybersecurity risk management. In his current focus, he blends machine learning and threat intelligence to identity cybersecurity risks.
A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. George formerly served as chief data scientist and vice president of analytics at startup CyberGRX in Denver. Prior to this role, he served at various high-level positions at the U.S. Department of Defense at Fort Meade in Maryland, including deputy chief of operations, liaison officer to the U.S. National Security Agency and NSA senior computer network exploitation operator.
As a former Army electronic warfare and signal intercept voice collector, Mr. George served as a senior Spanish linguist, and he has near native-level mastery of the language.
He has co-authored nearly a dozen research papers on cybersecurity, sensor networks and predictive analysis.
He holds a doctorate in computer science from Texas A&M University, where his primary research focused on modeling of high uncertainty system dynamics to quantify risk, applied to modern asymmetric warfare. He also holds a master’s degree in software engineering from Southern Methodist University.
